Terminal 2, RDU’s new passenger facility, opened for business on October 26, 2008. ServiceTec teamed with Ultra Electronics to support the airport’s ongoing growth, adhering to a very stringent implementation schedule to meet the airport’s needs. Currently, ServiceTec provides support for the IT infrastructure in Terminal 2 and is responsible for supporting all the Ultra electronics equipment and software, including all workstations, displays and associated blade servers, and all common use self-service kiosks. ServiceTec also supports UltraDB, UltraFIDS and Ultra SEATS software. ServiceTec is also responsible for creating the workstation and kiosk images and their deployment throughout Terminal 2 and in addition to constant monitoring, has a support role with network connectivity as well as supporting and training of the individual airline applications.
With the completion of phase three of Terminal 2, ServiceTec with its vast knowledge of the set-up of the blade servers and thin clients used to send information to each of the displays, designed a unique PC imaging system that was used to deploy the workstation image to all of the new computers for phase three.
